An 1885 letter from E.W.J. Sindersmith, a U.S. Army chaplain, sent from Fort Keogh, Montana to the Frost family of Hanoverton, Ohio. The letter, which updates the Frost family on Sindersmith's recent life, describes his life and duties as an Army chaplain and describes his establishment of "a Female Academy in Miles City, and two Indian schools, one among the Flat-Heads of the North, and one among the Cheyennes on Tongue River". He also writes about the death of the first generation of settlers, mentioning a number of early settlers by name. [ Fort Keogh Montana
