These diaries provide a fascinating look at life in a new city ranching, and family life. Art Keddie married one of Warren Williams daughters. Williams was Fallon!!! It was his town and he was one of the largest sheep ranchers in the state of Nevada. The first diary starts out with 6" of snow, pumped water, helped work on a car, and had dinner at Warren Williams home. It ends with working on a car during the day (cars were always breaking in the very rough Nevada deserts) and going the Eagles New Yea's Ball where his party was joined by Wingfield (The Wingfield?). In between he worked on the pipe line from the S Line (Newlands Project), goes to Idaho and Montana (caught 50 pounds of trout), visits the ranch in Gold Creek, Elko County (took out 2 pounds of coffee to Butch and Cooper), took wagon out to stage road, etc. These are a very hard read, but the information is priceless! Includes a lengthy biography of Art Keddie and nine pieces of ephemera from Keddie. State: Nevada City: Fallon, Churchill Date:
