A group of three art nouveau-style postcards featuring illustrations by Arpad Basch, c1900. Illustrations of three different women, each with unique style of dress, and elaborate backgrounds. Artist's printed signature on fronts: "-Basch Arpad - 1900-". Unused. Light pencil marks on verso, otherwise clean.
¡rp·d Basch, born in 1873, Budapest, was a Hungarian painter and graphic artist. He trained under Simon HollÛsy in Munich, Bihari and Karlovsky in Budapest and LÈon Bonnat, Dousset, and Jean Paul Laurens in Paris. He was the art editor of the Magyar Genius (a Hungarian publication). He painted several commissions for the Millennia Exposition, and spent some time painting posters.
