A collection of French Art Nouveau postcards by multiple artists commissioned by the Job firm, c1903-1915. Each postcard features a printed signature by artists: P. Gervaise (7), G. Meunier, C. Leandre, J. Atche, D. Hernandez, Maxence, and G. Maurice. Renderings are of women in various poses, smoking cigarettes. The Job firm, founded in 1836, commissioned artists to design posters and calendars from about 1895-1914. Eight of these cards are from the 1914 series, thought to be the most impressive because the image fills the card vertically. Four are of an earlier series in which the image fills about 50% of the card horizontally. Two are postmarked, 1915, with penned writing on verso, 10 are unused. Some have slight wear and light staining, otherwise clean. For more information on the Art Nouveau movement, see Lot #185447. [] [] [France] [] []
