A set of 6 different RARE postcards featuring the Art Nouveau illustrations of Leo Lelee, French painter and illustrator, from about 1900. The unique renderings have backgrounds of eyes in light purple and green, behind realistic drawings of women with floral adornments in their hair. Artist printed signature. Unused. Tinted corners front and verso from album holders, otherwise clean. Leopold Lelee (1872-1947) was a French painter and illustrator. He entered the National School of Decorative Arts in the upper class, becoming a student of Edmond Lechevallier-Chevignard, then at the National School of Fine Arts in Paris thanks to a scholarship from the general council of Mayenne. Having worked extensively on costume and illustration, Lelee was asked to create the Perrine School Museum in Laval. For more information on the Art Nouveau movement, see Lot #185447.
