This postcard is from the 6th Series, c1900-05, designed by Alphonse Mucha. No. 507. Design for a Soiree Program. R-5. Vertical design occupies about 2/3 of the card. Lady in green holding a stringed instrument. Crescent above. Occurs with and without signature, but this postcard has Mucha's signature which makes it more valuable. Unused. Small black ink stain and light staining on verso, otherwise clean.
The cards in the 5th, 6th and 7th series are scarcer than those in the preceding series, possibly because of their "miscellaneous" nature. It also could be due to the declining popularity of Art Nouveau postcards at the time. One authority has written that the year 1900 marked the peak of popularity of "le style Mucha."
