Mela Köhler was born in 1885, in Vienna, Austria. She was trained at the art school Höhenberg, and studied at the School of Applied Arts under the guidance of Koloman Moser and Berthold Löffler. Köhler worked as a freelance artist. She designed postcards for the Wiener Werkstätte and numerous fashion illustrations. She also worked for the magazine "Wiener Mode" and illustrated books for the publisher, Konegen. Around 1934, Köhler emigrated to Sweden. She died in 1960. [ 1903-on
