Wiener Werkstätte No. 12 postcard featuring an illustration of a garden by renowned Austrian artist Franz Lebisch (1881–1965). Unused. Slight bends in two corners, otherwise clean. Wiener Werkstätte produced artists’ and fashion postcards to use not only for correspondence but also for advertising. The Wiener Werkstätte Workshop, established in 1903 in Vienna, Austria, was conceived by graphic designer and painter Koloman Moser, architect Josef Hoffmann and patron Fritz Waerndorfer, who brought together architects, artists, designers and artisans working in ceramics, fashion, silver, furniture and graphic arts. The workshop is regarded as a pioneer of modern design, and its influence can be seen in later styles such as Bauhaus and Art Deco. It influenced generations of architects and designers in the 20th century. - Some info from Wikipedia [ 1903-on
