This is a lot of nine (9) block prints published in 1714. This hard bound folio was originally published with many more block prints however only nine remain after almost 300 years. These prints are based on the art work of Jean Baptiste Vanmour eminent court painter to King Louis XIV. They are prints of the paintings made by Vanmour while in Constantinople, Turkey representing France in peace and good will. This hardbound book is 20 in. X 13 in. prints are 12 1/2 in. X 20 in. and beautifully colored. All prints are loose but in fine condition on original heavy stock paper. The preface and explanations are in french. If you like original artwork, look no further.
