This assay document for the Utica Mining Co. of Angel's Camp, California has four ingot entries with two ingot entries for gold over 1,000 oz.. One bar at 1910 oz. of gold produced was over $34,500 when gold was $18.07 an oz. That's about 131 lbs. in one bar! There are four separate mines listed: the Utica, Stickle, Gold Cliff, and Sulphur(xxxc) Mines for a total of $70,341.24. The document has two punch marks left edge, folded, two chips top and bottom center. One chemical burn right side. Very legible piece of California history. Angel's Camp was named after Henry Angel but the real story begins when Bennager Raspberry gets his ramrod stuck in his muzzleloading shotgun and fires the gun to dislodge his ramrod. Retrieving his ramrod he discovers gold, lots of it. 13.5 n. X 6 in.
