Assay ledger sheet from the Assay Office of Eberhardt and Aurora Mining Company, Ltd., International Mill, Eberhardt City, Nevada. Lists 30 samples and their silver content. 13.75 x 8" Torn out of ledger, with wear and some small tears and toning along the edges. Eberhardt is a ghost town in White Pine County on the southeast side of Treasure Hill. It was founded in 1867 with discoveries that became the Eberhardt Mine, whose richness led the federal mining commissioner to declare it had walls and ceilings of silver. The town grew with the mills, but an 1872 destroyed one of the larger mills. The town began a rapid decline after 1880. The foundations to the mills are still present today. Fred Holabird sold an ingot from the Sweetwater Mining Co., who bought the Eberhardt & Aurora MC in 1883. 1872 was a tough year for this mine. Date: Location: Eberhardt City, Nevada HWAC# 572070
