No 68 for 100 shares. Another choice eastern financed venture into the wilds of Nevada and its vast dester region at a time when little was known. George M. Groves, president, G. T. Sewell and E.L. Montgomery of Nevada superintendent and engineer. In 1863, Montgomery was managing the Starlight company in the Humboldt District, a district separate from the main mining districts in the Humboldt region. It is likely that the Atlantic & Pacific hired Montgomery for managing their claims in the same district. He returned to new York in September, 1865. The name of the company was designed to attract attention. It coincides with the A & P telegraph, the A&P railroad, the A&P steamship company and others. Rare. Herzog Collection Nevada
