$1,000 Atlantic and Pacific Rail Road Company Central Division Land Grant Bond, number 325, dated November 1, 1871, signed by Uriel Crocker, president and A. Hayes, treasurer, no coupons. Principal and interest payable in gold. Brown company seal and printing. Imprinted revenue paper RNW2. Two railroad vignettes. The Atlantic and Pacific Railroad was a U.S. railroad that owned or operated two disjointed segments, one connecting St. Louis, Missouri with Tulsa, Oklahoma, and the other connecting Albuquerque, New Mexico with Southern California. Incorporated by Congress in 1866 as a transcontinental railroad connecting Springfield, Missouri and Van Buren, Arkansas with California. Central portion never constructed.
