VERY EARLY #4. For 1500 shares to EA Richardson trustee. Not signed!!! Dateline San Francisco March 4, 1872. Incorproated February 10, 1872. Not cacnelled. Vignette of Atlas holding up the world. SE Dutton printer. Jacksonville MIning District in Tuolumne County. The Atlas Gold Mining Company is a a half mile or so from Tuttletown, formerly the Waters mine, now owned but not operated by a company of San Francisco speculators. Owing to the extent of the deposit, the mine would be valuable if the vein matter had an average richness of two dollars and a half ; but this it does not seem to have. The Atlas people had neither mine, experience nor skill, consequently they failed. They have, however, a beautiful mill, ornamental, if not useful, containing 10 stamps driven by steam, and having concentrators and other apparatus, making it the best mill in the county.["A history of Tuolumne County, California...", 1882] Prag Collection State: California City: Jacksonville District, Tuolumne County Date: 1872
