Number 1087 for 100 shares issued to David B Waters in 1882. Signed by secretary James H George and president TD Huntley(?). Two vignettes of a mill and train and one of underground mining with an ore cart. Cut close to border on left from stock book. Otherwise no pinholes, dog ears, edge issues, colorization problems, rips or tears. The Auraria mine was situated on the Pigeon Roost belt, half a miles west of Auraria. The mine was reported as being worked for a little over a year in 1882, but had found a vein only six months ago. The mine has done well; the material is quite as rich as found elsewhere on the same belt. The supply, however, is not as large or so favorably suited. For a considerable part of the year the water supply was so weak that the work of sluicing and piping was impeded. The company has a 15 stamp mill on the Etowah River which does furnish fine water power. The mine had undergone changes in leadership from the earlier stock certificates we have. Obviously to the great advantage of the company and it stock owners.
