Lot of six pieces of postal history. 1) J. S. Cain is deducted $4.64 for not delivering mail during a snow storm in March of 1906. 2) Envelope the notice came in. 3) 1918 letter from the Chairmen of the Republican and Democratic parties to United State Senator Key Pittman to stay the suspension of mail from Thorne, Nevada to Aurora. 4) Letter from RM French, Post office inspector, to James Cain advising he received his proposal to run mail from Bridgeport to Bodie in 1918. 5) 1918 letter from SM Morse, inspector in San Francisco, to JS Cain asking if Lulu B Laurendean was qualified to by postmaster at Aurora. 6) Cain's response, "she is competent and has the ability..."
