Location: Bodie Mining District, Mono Co., California. Inc. January 22, 1878. Uncancelled. No. 928, issued to Geo. B. Hill, cashier, 15 shares. Signed by A. J. Ralston as vice-president, and Hubbard as secretary. Sept. 30, 1879. Two stamped assessments on reverse. Printed by Britton & Rey, SF. Pinholes, folds and very light soiling. Rare.

Information on this company is very difficult to find. It is not mentioned in Burchard 1880 or 1881. Notices for assessments appear in January 1879 issues of Mining & Scientific Press. Ralston's involvement is not surprising, given that H.M. Yerington and other Virginia & Truckee Railroad figures (such as D.O. Mills) were invested in many mining and railroad projects in California and Nevada. Ralston succeeded William Sharon at the Bank of California in Virginia City. Geo. B Hill was a very important financial figure in Carson City, founding the Carson City Savings Bank in 1875.
