Only one we've ever seen. Proof certificate. New York 186_ dateline. Vignette at upper left of prospectors working at surface. Small milling vignette at bottom. Printed by Continental Bank Note Co. NY. Two punch holes through signature line for the president. Some toning. Overall very fine. 5.75 x 10" According to a company circular, Charles B. Thurston was appointed General Agent for the company that was "largely represented by Newarkers." The company was organized March 1865 with J.M. Winchell as both president and treasurer, Samuel Sinclair as vice president, and Frank Fuller as secretary. The company bought the Borodino Mine (located two miles north of Austin near Overland Canyon) and the Overman Mine (on Lander Hill). They also purchased a mill site in Overland Canyon. The mines were each 800 feet in length. (Al Adams Gold Rush Memorabilia Collection) Date: Location: Austin, Nevada HWAC# 59008
