Engineering Achievements Booklet for 1956 by Chief Engineer Ed Cole and more. This paperback engineering booklet introduces the 1956 Corvette is in excellent condition; a piece of automotive history. The title page "1956 Chevrolet Corvette Engineering Achievements / book No__________/ Issued to_______________________________/ Prepared by/Engineering Product Information Department", etc. This was a presentation booklet at Chevrolet and possibly at a Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) meeting dated "January 1956". Giving Chevrolet Chief Engineer Ed. Cole, (later GM President and member of the Corvette Hall of Fame) the lead for a compact V8 engine design that would reign for decades. Over 100,000,000 small-blocks have been built in carbureted and fuel injected forms since 1955. This issue is not numbered and unsigned. There is a short introduction by E. N. Cole/ Chief Engineer" in the frontispiece. This issue highlights the compact engine design, then at 265 c.i. and introducing the Corvette ram horn tuned exhaust manifold, and other design improvements. At pp.24, and introducing the 283 c.i. fuellie motor for 1957. If you love corvettes you need this booklet. A very rare find. Other ephemera includes sales literature, only available from dealerships include model years 1954, 1955, 1957-1960, 1963-1967, 1968-77, 1980, 1981, 1984, 1986, 1987, 1989, 1991-1994, 1991 ZR-1, 1995, 1997-1998, 2000-2002, 2005.
