The second decade of the 20th century saw the rise of brave souls in flimsy contraptions who took to the air and changed humanity's relationship with the skies forever. Among these were Americans Charles K. Hamilton ("the crazy man of the air") and Glenn Curtiss, who is credited as a founder of the American aviation industry. These four postcards featured events where both men were demonstrating the wonders of flight to amazed audiences. All published by Benham Company: #1547 Hamilton Returning from Record Flight; #1548 Hamilton Ready for Flight in the Curtiss Biplane; #1537 Curtiss in Flight; and #1544 Glenn Curtiss carrying Jerome Fancuilli as Passenger.
