Among the earliest airplane pilots who demonstrated the wonders of aviation were French aviator Louis Paulhan, and Americans Charles K. Hamilton ("the crazy man of the air") and Glenn Curtiss, who is credited as a founder of the American aviation industry. These five postcards mark some of their milestones including Paulhan's record-breaking flight for altitude at the Los Angeles International Air Meet in January of 1910; Glenn Curtiss carrying Jerome Fancuilli as Passenger at the same event; and Hamilton Returning from Record Flight. There are two more cards in this set, one each featuring Hamilton and Curtiss. All published by Benham Company, numbers 1537, 1544, 1545, 1547, and 1548.
