Hubert Latham was a French airplane pilot who made the first attempts to cross the English Channel in an airplane. Being unsuccessful in both attempts, he became the first person to land an airplane on the water -- not once, but apparently twice! Two postcards in this lot show Radley flying a French Antoinette monoplane at public events. A third is an artist's rendering of Latham's Antionette monoplane. James Radley was an English aviator and race car driver. One card in this lot shows him piloting a Bleriot at the same event as Radley (based on the same buildings appearing in the background).
