Charles F. Willard was an American aviator and engineer who took to flying as a stunt pilot and ushered in the age of barnstorming. This postcard shows him piloting a biplane at the Walla Walla (Washington) Aviation Meet of April 27, 1911. Willard is reported in the Boston Journal of June 2, 1910, to have piloted the first airplane downed by a bullet (from an annoyed farmer).
