Really rare. # 22 for 100 shares to Henry George. Signed by Secretary William Hughes and president Redding. Valley vignette. Two blue 10c stamps and one 5c light brown stamp used in place of revenue stamp. H. S. Crocker of Sacramento print. First settled in 1852, the camp was originally known as Brownsville, then Elizaville, and finally Forest City when the post office was established in 1854. Forest City was an important mining camp and trade center during the 1850s. A latter iteration of the Bald Mountain was Forest City's most famous mine, producing some $3.1 million in gold.
