Inc. in New York. Ultra-low stock number TWO, issued to company president Eugene Robinson on May 29th, 1878 in New York. Signed by president Robinson and secretary OS Dawson. Not cancelled. Black border and print, gold seal, and bald eagle vignette. Two mining vignettes printed on the reverse in green. Printed by The Geographic Company. Deep folds, creases, light wear. 8.5 x 11" There is no record of this company in Raymond, Burchard, Jackson, or Hose et al. It was issued ten years after the initial rush to White Pine and after the boom had subsided. It was likely trying to ride the coattails of ventures such as the Eberhardt and Eberhardt & Aurora, which were British financed mining companies producing at Treasure Hill. According to an article in the Daily Alta California (Feb.19, 1880), "a letter to the Sentinel says that Mr. Eugene N. Robinson, of the Baldy Sour, is doing his utmost to further the development of the district." State: Nevada City: Treasure Hill Date: 1878
