Bamboo throwing spear, bamboo point held by woven top of spear. Bamboo shaft. Spear origin, unknown. Some bamboo-headed spears were used by the Semai people of Perak, a state in Peninsular Malaysia. The Semai are known for their rejection of violence (they have no police, courts, or even formal rulers). Therefore, it is unlikely spears were used as weapons. Instead they were used in spring-spear traps for killing pigs and deer. Date: Location: zAfrica HWAC# 43422
