Lot of 2 items out of a Virginia City collection. 1) Metal impression die for the Bank of California. Criss-crossed shovel and pick with text "The Bank of California" and "1864." Includes small souvenir bag with sample impression. Possibly made for the 100th anniversary in 1964. Has maker's mark Gehring, S.F. Cal. The Bank of California was opened in 1864 by William Ralston. 2) Metal stamp the bears a strong resemblance to the Nevada State seal. Wood block. Appears to be old. Section of plate missing.
