Signed by president Dorr and secretary HC Keible. Not cancelled. Black border and print. Two vignettes: Native American (upper left) and classic Western scene of tent camp next to mine entrance by Eastman and Keith. 25 cent adhesive stamp at lower left. Pinhole, folds, creases, some soiling and rough edges. Please inspect. 5.25 x 10" William Keith (1838-1911) was a Scottish-American painter famous for his California landscapes. When Keith came to SF, he formed a partnership with Harrison Eastman in 1862 and with Durbin Van Vleck in 1864. During the 1870s Keith painted a number of six- by ten-foot panoramas of the High Sierra. He also formed a close relationship with John Muir. This mining company was not listed in Filer or Holabird indexes. Not found on CDNC. Ken Prag Collection
