Black border and print. Vignette of active mining town. 25 cent adhesive stamp at left. Pinholes, deep folds, toning, repaired corner. 7 x 10.5 inches. Not mentioned by Browne (1868) or Raymond (1870). No articles found on CDNC or newspapers.com that can add location. Not in Filer. Possibly Reese River. Also has been presented as Unionville/ Starr City area. There was a "Batavia & Pacific" mine in the Relief District of Pershing County, Nevada in the late 1860s-1870s [Raymond, 1876].
