Lot of 2. Both show the damage of a freak 1918 winter in two adjacent mines 1) Labelled "Showing Ice On Mill During Continued Operation Worst Winter in 19 Yrs From Dec 7 to Jan 18 1918." Blue Diamond Mining Co. "Jan 11 1918 20 Below Zero" Photo is 5 x 7" on 8 x 10" mount. No photographer. Lead-zinc mining operation in Baxter Springs, Kansas adjoining the Blue Mound MC. In 1929, reported to have 9 shafts to 250' and 250 ton mill. 2) Similar shot for the adjacent Blue Mound Mining Company, also 5 x 7" on 8 x 10" mount.
