Rare. No. 182, issued for 100 shares in 1866 in Worcester, Mass. Signed by president FH Kelley and treasurer Lee. Not cancelled. Simple design with black border and print. Folds, creases. 5.5 x 9" Hollister (1867) reports on a Bay State Gold Mining Company with feet on Tenth Legion, Silver Mountain and Livingston County lodes, as well as a sawmill at North Empire (pg. 246-247). On March 4, 1869, the Colorado Miner reports the company has 1100 feet on the Livingston Lode, Upper Union Mining District, Clear Creek County. This district is also known as the Empire Mining District.
