Beaded buckskin vest for a small child, mounted and framed in a Plexiglas box. Indian-tanned buckskin base covered in lazy stitch beadwork with red, blue, green, turquoise, and some bronze-colored metallic glass beads on white field. Bead size is 12/0. Red ones are whiteheart beads with a white glass core and red glass exterior, which suggests a late 1800s era construction. Some missing bead lines at the creases, but otherwise in good condition. overall the piece is 14 x 13 inches. Origin is likely Northern Plains tribes, possibly Lakota Sioux.
