Multi color design with predominantly white background beads with red, green, orange, cobalt blue. Men's size. 4.5" x 10.25". Has some wear, please inspect. Circa 1900, Lakota Sioux origin. The Sioux tribe originally lived as Woodland Indians along the upper Mississippi in Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. The were forced west by the French and their Chippewa allies. During the migration west to the Great Plains the tribe split into three divisions - the Lakota, Dakota and Nakota. The names Lakota, Dakota, and Nakota all mean "Allies" or "Confederates." Handle with care, beautiful old moccasins should be displayed.
