Number 257 for 60 shares to H Schwarze. Datelined San Francisco 1863. Signed by secretary AC Teitman and president Caleb Hyatt. Incorporated May 20, 1863. Location Virginia District, Nevada Territory. Mountain ore cart vignette. Printers Towne & Bacon. 25c Power of Att'y revenue stamp. Not cancelled. Cut roughly where separated from book. One nick top left and one bottom right. Stains top. Slight wrinkling. Extremely rare certificate. Not listed on Bancroft 1862 map or mentioned in other Holabird research materials. According to McDonald, their office was located in S.F. at 611 Clay St. and the secretary was A.C. Teitman [McDonald, pg. 17, 1996]. May have been prospective company. Their name is unusual in that it refers more to Gold Rush-style mining. But where is there a river on the Comstock? Background notes on Hyatt and two newspaper reprints on the Bed Rock mine.
