Rare. No. 1315. Virginia (City), Nevada, Bank of California, check, 1879. Issued to F. Sharbach for $24. Signed by P. Ennis for the Belcher Company. RN-G imprinted revenue. The Belcher was one of the top producing Comstock mines (along with the California, Con. Virginia, and Crown Point). It was located 1/4 mile south of the Crown Point in Gold Hill. In 1871, there was a bonanza pocket of rich ore discovered in the Crown Point and Belcher. At the time of the discovery, the mine was under William Sharon's control. [Ansari]
