Lot of 3 different. Issued 1929 (number 3 for 5,000 shares to L. Sherman Adams); 1971 (for 100 shares, allegorical vignette, orange border); and 1980 (for 50 shares, bald eagle vignette, blue border). Good condition overall. Founded in 1927 by Giuseppe Mario Bellanca. Bellanca was the designer and builder of Italy's first aircraft. The company was first located in Richmond Hill, New York and moved in 1928 to New Castle (Wilmington), Delaware. In the 1920s and 1930s, Bellanca's aircraft were known for their efficiency and low operating cost, gaining fame for world record endurance and distance flights. Lindbergh's first choice for his New York to Paris flight was a Bellanca WB-2. The company's insistence on selecting the crew drove Lindbergh to Ryan. In 1983, it became AviaBellanca Aircraft Corporation. Ken Prag Collection
