Typewritten letter w/envelope to Mr. Barnet Nover/journalist signed by Bernard M. Baruch/NYC congratulating Mr. Nover for an article he wrote titled "Soviet Atomic Inspection Agreement Held not Enough." Dated November 16, 1949. Rare. Placed under "Goldfield, Nevada" because Baruch was the key financier behind George Wingfield and the Goldfield Consolidated Mines, which built a huge mill at Goldfield in 1909 that reaped great profits for Baruch and Wingfield. Note: Bernard Baruch (1870 - 1965) became one of the country's wealthiest and most influential men of the early-mid 20th century, advising Presidents from Woodrow Wilson to Harry Truman. From his Wall Street office in the early 1900s he helped finance the Goldfield Consolidated Mining Company, the Getchell Mine and many other Nevada mining enterprises. Baruch had a quiet and private office in a building at Red Mountain, California (near Randsburg) still there today. He may have been a private financier for the Yellow Aster or the tungsten mines at Red Mountain. We have had very few documents signed by Baruch.
