Aquamarine is the greenish-blue colored variety of the mineral Beryl. The color of aquamarine is attributed to the presence of ferrous iron within the atomic structure of this beryllium aluminium cyclosilicate. This gem quality, vibrant color, highly lustrous single crystal of Aquamarine was found in Minas Gerais state, Brazil. Minas Gerais is world renowned for its huge reserves of gold, gem pegmatite minerals (tourmaline, beryl, kunzite, etc.), and iron ore. This specimen has a flake of beryl missing from the prism face opposite from the primary display face. An exceptional gem-quality crystal. Dimensions (cm): 6 H x 3 W x 2.5 D. 84.9 grams.
