Original Mint Condition, Limited Edition Bicentenary Liberty Bell Replica cast by the Whitechapel Bell Foundry in London. This is Bell No. 1241 still in original box, exactly as shipped by the Foundry. It is made to the scale of 1/5th the original Liberty Bell, ordered from the same foundry by the province of Pennsylvania in 1752 and it was cast on the same site. The silver plaque on the bell reads: "By Order of / Liberty Bank & Trust Company, Boston, / in Commemoration of the Bicentenary of the American Revolution. / 1776 - 1976" The Bell comes with all original documentation of purchase, delivery and ownership, including the order form, correspondence, price quote, payment records, Certificate of Ownership, Certificate of Authenticity, et. al. Also included is all the documentation shipped with the bell direct from the Manufacturer, such as the detailed written information regarding the casting process, historical techniques employed and materials used, as well as Maintenance and care instructions. A 20 page, printed, illustrated Booklet about the Whitechapel Bell Foundry and it's history is also included, along with an original news page from the Christian Science Monitor from Wednesday, February 4th, 1976 with a lengthy article by Richard Kepler Brunner about the Bicentennial Replicas of the Liberty Bell cast by Whitechapel Foundry. This is truly a complete documented record of the order, purchase, payment and delivery of this beautiful, mint condition, now antique Liberty Bell replica, exactly as compiled almost 50 years ago, down to the box it was shipped in. The original owner of this bell was Mr. Victor G. Jensen, Jr. from Mission Viejo, California. Mr. Jensen never unboxed or installed his bell. Truly an incredible find. Bell stands about 15" tall, weight with base is about 30 pounds. Base is carved oak about 12 1/2 x 12 1/2 inches (square) Mounted are 2 Solid Silver Inscription Plaques. The bell is numbered and was made to order for Mr. Jensen costing nearly $1,000 a half a century ago.
