Three different uncancelled stock. 1) 100 shares of Bingham Central Railway Company to M.M. Joyce of Uncancelled Preferred Capital Stock sold Sept, 1909. Certificate No.80. 2) 100 shares of Bingham Central Railway Company to Alfred Frank of Uncancelled Preferred Capital Stock sold Sept, 1914. Certificate No.101. 3) First Mortgage Gold Bold No. 156V11. Principal due April 1, 1948. The Bingham and Garfield Railway was incorporated in 1908 by the Utah Copper Company. The railroad grew out of a growing need by Utah Copper to be able to move its ores from its mine in Bingham Canyon to its smelter in Garfield, Utah. A further advantage to Utah Copper was the establishment of eminent domain powers that railroads had (but corporations did not have). The railway began operations in 1911 and quickly became very busy due to the high amount of ore being mined. In 1921 the railroad ended all passengers. City: State: Date: HWAC# 82248
