Location printed below logo: Gold Hill District, Nevada Territory. (It is not common to see "Nevada Territory" spelled out. Usually just N.T.) No. 43, issued for 10 shares to Theodore Voizin on July 23rd, 1863 in San Francisco. Signed by president J.C. Hollenbeck and the company secretary, Y. T. Yarrington. Not cancelled. Large vignette of an eagle with other patriotic imagery. Also a vignette of an allegorical woman holding an American flag. Robbins & Co., Printers, SF. 25 cent Power of Attorney stamp attached upside down. Folds, some toning and writing on reverse. Plenty of business news (assessments, annual meetings, delinquent certs), but no news of production. At one time or another Bixler, Voizin, Hallenbeck and Yarrington were all delinquent on shares owned. Bixler was a lawyer who acquired ownership of this company since they were owed $1,200. A few months later they traded the company for stock in the California and hence became millionaires. Interesting biography of Bixler (namesake) included.
