Very rare. Bodie M'G Dist. Mono Co. Cal. printed at bottom center. No. 2923, issued for 100 shares in San Francisco in 1881 to Walter Kelly. Signed by president PJ White and secretary Charles. Not cancelled. Interesting design with vignette of figure riding a horse inside of the "B" in the company name. AJ Leary printer. In 1878, a man named Jack O'Hara was shot and killed while he and others tried to jump the Black Hawk claim. By March of 1878 the shaft on this claim was 110 feet. The original trustees were Coll Dean, CW Kellogg, PJ White, TR Hayes, and Wm. Lent. Lent was a famous Comstock financier and later a Bodie Financier.
