Sgt. James Thompson graduated from the Tuskegee Army Flying School in group G, 1945. The Tuskegee Flying School was filled with Negro pilots and support personnel. Their moto was " Prepare for Combat". They saw action in the European Theatre and provided air cover for the B-17s. If a B-17 airman looked over his shoulder and saw a fighter plane with a red tail, he owes his life to a Tuskegee Airman. And at the end of the day when it was "wheels down and on the ground" these men could not even share a drink together at the bar, it's 1945. There is the Flying School introduction booklet assigned and autographed by Sgt. James Thompson. A wide angle photo has Airman Thompson second row far right, follow the arrow. There are also two B&W photos of Thompson flight ready and another receiving training on loading the wing guns of a trainer aircraft, dated 1943. A hardcover book published 1942 is a photo journal of the Tuskegee Training Center. Many photos have autographs of Thompson's personal friends. There are names and photos of men that changed the course of the war in the Pacific. The inside cover has a taped-in photo of a proud Airman Thompson receiving his wings from his mother. The binding is frail. After the war, James Thompson became a postman and a hardcover booklet celebrates his retirement after 40 years of service, dated 1984. These is also a B&W photo of James with his wife "Nita" in New York City. A final piece is a photo-copy of a "Quitclaim Title" where James passes his property to his wife, dated 1980. This photo archive is a small piece of American history that cannot be lost. Please see photos for details. [
