Rare. Inc. in Colorado. No. 476, issued for 100 shares to HB Metcalf on April 15th, 1882 in Leadville. Signed by vice-president H.R. Calkins and secretary H.F. Smith. Not cancelled. Very attractive design with gilt border, facsimile RN underprint, and vignette of miners working on the surface. No printer listed. Folds and bent upper right corner. 7 x 10.5" Company owned the Charles XII, Centennial, Mountain Star, Louisiana, and Little Stella lodes, 1500 x 300 feet each, situated on the south side of Loveland Mountain, Mosquito District, 1.5 miles from Park City. The Charles XII ore contained galena, lead carbonates and sulphurets in a lime gangue, that milled 15-25% lead, 1/10th ounce gold, and 50-75 ounces silver per ton.
