Final year of operation for this railroad that served the booming logging camps near Truckee. Pass No. 262, issued for 1916 to C.W. Carpenter (Western Pacific Railway). Signed by C.L. Hovey as receiver. Printed on green cardstock. Very good condition. The Boca & Loyalton was inc. in 1900 and opened in 1902. Through ownership of stock shares, it was largely controlled by Denver & Rio Grande. It ran from Portola, California eastward 5.7 miles to Beckwith (Beckwourth) then south 40 miles to Boca on the Southern Pacific, with a 1.6 mile branch known as Grizzly Creek Spur. A subsidiary of Western Pacific bought the railroad in 1905. The railroad closed in 1916 and the rails were removed in 1917.
