Ornate and beautifully framed Bodie ephemera from the Knights Templar Lodge. Approximate 20 x 30" wood frame, matted. 1) Left side has five of the very fancy engraved Knights Templar cards. The cards are from prominent Bodie citizens: Edwin F Bert, WA Irwin, Charles H Kelly, George W Penter, and WA Attlee. William Irwin became superintendent of the Bullion Mine in 1876; superintendent of the Standard beginning in 1878; representative for Giant Powder Co.; and superintendent of the Bodie Cons. Mining. Co. by 1884. He was one of Bodie's most important mining figures. Atlee was the Wells Fargo & Co. agent in Bodie. Penter first owned a hay and feed business before taking over the Bodie Bank in 1887. Kelly operated an undertaking (and furniture) business. 2) Also includes the spectacular 1883 triennial conclave San Francisco Knights Templar Bodie ribbon with original tassel as well as a Knights Templar eight point with inlays. 3) On the right side is a very fancy program for the triennial conclave from 1883 from the same person that attended it from Bodie. This lot is nothing short of spectacular containing very rare material and is an absolute marvelous display of historical Bodie material.
