Never seen by us before! 19 x 12" broadside advertising piece for Major Mono. This high bred trotting stallion will serve mares this season. Terms: $15.00. Major Mono was sired by Pacific, he by Niagara, he by Tom Wheeler, he by Tom Chowder, a son of old Pilot. Pilot has a record of 2:26 (see Wallace's Stud Book). Printed by the Mono Alpine Chronicle. The Mono Alpine Chronicle was published weekly in Bodie by R.M. & A.C. Folger from 1878-1879. It was renamed the Bodie Chronicle in 1879-1880.

Folded many times. Two tears at fold intersections. One long tear right bottom that has been taped (old). Still , nice looking and quite unique!

In 1885 Major Mono won a premium award at the Reno Fair for Best Family of Horses Medal, JJ Poor's Major Mono and five colts. One of his sires was mentioned in the 1905 American Morgan Horse Register. Date: c1879 Location: Mono County, California HWAC# 60652
