Rare booklet on the mines and prospects of Bodie and Esmeralda (later Aurora, Nevada) in eastern California near Mono Lake. Covers history, geology, and mines of three areas, Bodie, Aurora and adjacent Esmeralda. Included are etchings of these towns and fold-out maps of Bodie and Aurora that detail the location of each mine and the town site plan. There are also summaries of important scientific works on the mining prospects by Silliman, Blake, Browne, Stretch and Whitehill. Cowan p. 671. Binding loose but all pages near fine.
