There are three bone awls in this lot. Three different sizes indicate there may have been three different applications. Two awls have been shaped to have flat surfaces; one at 3.5 in. / 89 mm and 7 in. /178 mm. One awl 4.5 in./ 114 mm has been drilled lengthwise for two holes. These bones may have been from either deer or turkey. Either used to sew skins, fiber fabric, or mats. From the Bracken collection. Please see photos for details. Gary Bracken Collection
