Light bump damage, sun aged spine and partially on cover, worn on spine. Staining on inside of board. Pages unaffected and in good condition. William M. Stewart moved west during the Gold Rush, and quickly entered politics after striking it rich as a mining litigator. He was Nevada's first senator in 1865.
